New Tree Information Tool Coming Soon
We’ve created a new tree information tool that uses a simple, standard table to show whether a project meets Seattle’s tree requirements. The tool includes easy-to-use worksheets that applicants will add to their plan sets.
It is designed to help applicants understand the tree-related information required in plan sets Ensure complete and accurate documentation of tree-related information in plan sets Improve efficiency and reduce time for our reviewers when confirming compliance with code Improve speed and accuracy of tree tracking activities and tree data reporting
This tool is designed to:
- Help applicants understand what tree information they will need to include in their plan sets.
- Ensure the information is complete and accurate.
- Help our reviewers check code compliance more quickly.
- Improve how we track and report tree data.
The tree information tool will be available on our Trees & Codes webpage beginning November 2, 2026.
If you’re applying for construction (CN), grading (GR), demolition (DM), master use (LU), or phased (PH) permits, you’ll need to use this new tool for any plans submitted on or after January 4, 2027. We’ll share more information and offer training opportunities throughout the rest of 2026.
Please contact us at sdci-trees@seattle.gov if you have questions.
